Fife farmer fined for slurry pollution

A Dunfermline farmer was fined £500 for his involvement in a slurry spreading operation that resulted in pollution of the Bluther Burn near Saline. James Gemmell Cousar was found guilty of causing and permitting a contractor to spread slurry without adequate instruction, supervision or training. Fish and invertebrates were killed along a 5km stretch of the Bluther Burn.
